About
How our quizzes work
Squizlymakes free, scored quizzes — knowledge and aptitude assessments you can take in a few minutes and get a personalized report by email. This page explains how they’re built, how scoring works, and — just as important — what your result does and doesn’t mean.
How a quiz is built
Every quiz is a structured set of questions grouped into sections — a reasoning test, for example, has separate sections for patterns, sequences, and logic. Each quiz is checked against a strict format before it can go live, so its questions, options, and correct answers are always complete and consistent; a quiz that doesn’t meet the format simply can’t ship. We write questions to have a single, defensible correct answer and to avoid trick wording.
How scoring works
When you submit, your answers are scored on our server — the answer key never reaches your browser. We calculate how many you got right overall and within each section, then map your overall score to a level band (for example, from “Keep practicing” to “Exceptional”). Your emailed report shows your level, a section-by-section breakdown, and which areas to focus on. The bands are fixed thresholds, the same for everyone — we don’t curve your result against other people.
What your result means — and what it doesn’t
Our quizzes are quick, self-administered estimates meant to give you a useful, honest snapshot — not formal qualifications. To be specific:
- The IQ and reasoning tests estimate reasoning ability from a short set of puzzles. They are not a clinical IQ score, which requires a longer, professionally administered assessment.
- The English grammar test places you on the CEFR scale as a guide for study. It is not an official language certificate, which comes from accredited exams.
We’d rather say this plainly than overstate what a five-minute quiz can measure.
Your privacy
The quizzes are free and need no account. We ask for your email only to send your report. We don’t keep a long-term database of your results, and we never sell your data. For the full details, see our Privacy Policy.
How we keep improving
With your consent, we measure anonymized usage — such as which quizzes people start and finish — so we can make the questions clearer and the experience better over time. You can decline analytics and still take any quiz.
